Reinforcement for the Klenze shaft:

the St. Anna shaft went into operation as an additional winding shaft in 1958.

Ore extraction from the three neighbouring field sections

After the completion of all six operational buildings, which were essential for mining operations, as well as the cable railway, ore mining began

The shaft area stretched over 65 x 150 metres and covered an area of 9,750 m². Ore could now be mined in the ‘St, Georg’, ‘Schützenheim’ and ‘Galgenberg’ field sites which were developed from here in December 1958.

However, the miners entering the Anna shaft also needed washrooms and a ‘Kaue’ (changing and drying room for work clothes). These rooms had to be provided in temporary buildings, until the planned completion of all the buildings for the central shaft were in operation in 1962.

The mine was now working with ore extraction almost at full capacity. For the 1962 planned link to the existing north-western parts of the field, long haulage routes had to be built, in particular the 2.25-kilometre-long direct route to Großenfalz and the approach route to Eichelberg.

An additional temporary shaft was constructed on the Galgenberg to facilitate the construction of these routes and to extract some of the waste rock.
